NuForce Oppo BDP83

I've been looking at the NuForce upgrade to the Oppo BPD83....again....
I couldn't tell from the website if their upgrade to the 'standard' 83 includes the Sabre DAC upgrades *and* their own upgrades on top of that.
If you want to get the new Sabre DACs in the Oppo do you have start with the "SE" version if you wanted to send it in for the NuForce upgrade later?
I know you can buy it all at once, but if you wanted to do it stages, do you have to start with the SE, or can you send in a standard 83 to NuForce and get the Sabre DAC mods as well as their own?

Erik, based on my research a few months ago before I decided on Modwright, yes, vc69 is correct. You have to send them SE edition.
Btw, there is no question that the Sabre DAC is better than Cirrus, but once modded, the difference in Analog section is very small.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
You can send NuForce either the stock BD-83 or the BD-83SE for the mods. The prices are: to upgrade to the NuForce edition from the stock BD-83 the price is $796. To upgrade from the BD-83SE to the NuForce edition is $396. And yes the mods include the Sabre DACS. All the above info is straight from their web site. Been doing some googling...
As I understand it, if you send NuForce a 'standard' 83 - they will take care of sending it to Oppo for the SE upgrade with the Sabre Dacs, then Oppo sends it back to NuForce and then they do their mods.
I don't think NuForce does the actual Sabre DAC SE upgrade 'in house'.

Interesting...it looks like the price is the same either way. To send in your stock unit to Oppo for the upgrade is $399. & your shipping costs. Then to send it to NuForce for their mod is another $396. & shipping. If you just send NuForce your stock unit it looks like you actually come out ahead on the shipping costs.
