How does bing cashback work?

I was looking at tube amplifiers on ebay and some qualify for cashback

Anyone here used or done this and how does it work?

Do you get a discount or do they put the money back into paypal after the purchase ?

You sign up with a Microsoft acc't like Windows Live. Then there's Buy-it-Now items that you can get the cashback, but their kicker is ( I think) you use Bing search to find them, then you have a certain time limit to peg the Buy, like a half hour or something.
IOW, they don't want you shop n comparing with this, so you already have to know in your mind what a good deal looks like and what you want to spend. But the savings are pretty good. You make the buy, and I think 6 weeks or so later, they kick it back to you.


At least, that's my impression of how it works. I signed up a while back to do a deal, then something else got in the way, so that's all from memory - I could be totally off base.

Sadly Microsoft has decided to eliminate BING Cashback on 31Jul10, so not a lot of reason to sign up at this point....it has been a great program while it lasted. Sometimes ebay (currently 8%) has been as high as 30% cashback. Sears is 15% cashback this weekend.
