About to pull the trigger on this setup. Any recommendations?

Having a low budget, this stuff seemed relatively no brainer and well-liked by the searches I've done on the forum, but I thought I'd ask you experts anyway. Anything about this you would change/upgrade? Mainly concerned about receiver being good enough to the speakers, any worthwhile speaker upgrades, etc.

Front/Surround: 4x Polk Tsi500
Center: Polk CS20
Sub: Polk PSW10 (Placeholder until I get a bigger place)
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR707

Right now it will be for a relatively small room (the combined living/dining area of my 1br apartment) about 14x25ft. I see most people use different speakers for surround speakers, is this just a pricing issue? Obviously I don't have all the money in the world, but since a pair of Tsi500s only cost a couple hundred more than a lower model speaker, I figure I can keep them for the surround too.

I know I shouldn't be worried about the CS20, but is there anything better I should consider? Voice quality is very important to me.

You can get a better sub for 250..the PSW505...the PSW10...MOST likely, will not add anything to a 4 x TSI-500 system....everything else looks fine!

In that case I think I'll just keep my current sub and upgrade to something better when I move in December. Thanks!

I have a somewhat similar setup in a larger room and everything is sounding great. I have tsi400's with the Onkyo 608 (I know, no pre-outs but I do not need an amp). I also have the PSW505 and the CS20 and they are awesome.

So far I have only turned the volume up on the Onkyo to about 75 and it gets scary loud, in a good way. I used 14AWG wire for these as well.

Any reason you don't go with the Monitor 70 Series II? They are on sale for $199 a piece right now on Newegg with coupon code = EMCYVZT55

Sound is so very close, and in my opinion a bit fuller. The TSI's tend to be a bit too bright IMO. Plus with the new look of the Series II you can't go wrong.

I've seen that the Tsi500s and Monitor 70s are comparable to the point of it being subjective. I'm considering getting two of each and using whichever I like more for the front stage. That might be a plan.

And as a side note, you can see from my signature that I have the Monitor 70's paired with the CS20 and it makes a fantastic front soundstage.

With the money you save on the speakers you can get a beautiful sub from eD, SVS, or Hsu and you will have one heck of a theatre for a budget price. I have the ED A2-300 and it has amazing bass extension and gives me a truly bottomless feel for my system.

Remember you can always turn down a more powerful sub, but you can never increase the limits of a poor sub.

If you read through the forums you will find wutadumsn23 and see that he got the TSI500's and relegated them to the rears as he preferred the Monitor 70's

Also note that he is running them with an Onkyo 806. I'd suggest asking him for an opinion via PM seeing as he has almost the same setup your looking at investing in.
