Why is he in the news?

He tried to run his landlord over with his minivan.

http://gawker.com/5587507/horned-man-attempts-to-murder-landlord-with-minivan
From Gawker.com:

This tattooed, horned fellow is named Jesse Thornhill. He was recently arrested for attempting to run down his landlord. In a 1996 Ford Windstar minivan. Naturally, we have some questions for Mr. Thornhill. Such as:

* A 1996 Ford Windstar?
* Really?
* Was there really no more amicable way to settle your dispute?
* Did you think you could escape unidentified?
* How long did it take to put together a lineup?
* I mean, couldn't hire a mediator, or something?
* Your face...? That's the whole question.
* Seriously, though. A Windstar?

Thornhill, for what it's worth, has bonded out of jail after being charged with assault with a deadly weapon. (The weapon is his Windstar.) His mother has said that she, and Thornhill's landlord, "had been having problems with her son."

Here's the original story: http://www.newson6.com/global/story.asp?s=12806315

Yes, those are horns.

    Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

    Think of the money he wasted on the work he had done to his head,face and all the tattoo work,That **** ain't cheap. A cheaper "Method" would have been to just do Meth!!

    Meth gives you a buzz, and you still end up looking like ****.

    I think his mom should be aloud to take a 5lb sledge to his horns.

    The horns ARE reversible, they're just little implants.

    It's odd that someone like him would do someting like that though, he seems so normal and reasonable from his picture.
    If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    I've encountered people before with neck/face tattoos, but nothing like this guy. I've got several tats myself, and I can't imagine being able to sit still with someone putting the needle to my neck. I don't think I'll ever find out, as my policy is to get nothing I can't cover with long pants and elbow-length sleeves.

    As far as the horns, it's my understanding that they're reversible, just have to go through the same process he went through to get them the first time.

    Also, my ears used to look like his. I let them shrink down because I got tired of looking like an arse when I took out my earrings for work.

    :)

    edit: His 'sideburns' look to be either branding or scarification done with a knife. Both are icky things during healing, and require bizarre aftercare to make them turn out well. I guess I'd like to know why the hell you would get your sideburns branded on instead of just growing some, but oh well.

    That was my first thought. Not that I'd want one there, but I could handle getting ink on my neck, but not on my Adam's apple and windpipe!

    I knew people in high school and in college that did this type of crap to their face. I think its going overboard but thats just me I guess. Some people makes them feel like they making an identity for themselves, I call it making yourself unemployable but its all good.

    Don't get me wrong, I'll down with piercings and tattoos and plan on a few, but will have placement where they are well hidden inside a dress shirt, or something that won't freak out the management...

    That's exactly it. I used to have several facial piercings that I switched for clear studs or took out for work. I finally got rid of them because it got to be too much of a PiTA to mess with them all the time.
    This guy has taken it to an extreme that makes him the poster child for the anti-piercing group. That sort of thing disgusts me. I think that a certain level of facial modification should be acceptable, but people like this, who take it to extremes, then try to run over their landlord, blow a hole in that argument.

    yep! I Have a friend that has about 8 or so on the face, but he works in the news industry and always has clear studs in so you can't see them. and honestly don't show up on the camera. its this guy that bugs me because he's taken it so far, it looks terrible.

    Yea, he looks like scumbag. Actually, he looks like a scumbag who looks like he's gone out of his way to look like even more of a scumbag. Cases like his make everyone with an eyebrow or septum ring look like scumbags. I strongly disapprove.

    It's my opinion that, if you're going to appear in a fashion that makes most citizens look at you like some sort of pariah, then you should be as much of a model citizen as possible. It helps to break down prejudices, instead of giving them fuel, as this fellow is doing.
