What DOES make sense to you, exactly? Because a "non-chicken" laying a chicken egg is the most likely and logical scenario. It's the entire basis of evolution - species creating other species essentially by accident via mutations combined with gradual change and whatnot.

The other option is that an invisible monster in teh sky created chickens out of nothing, which also doesn't make much logical sense. You're welcome to believe it, but it's certainly not LOGICAL.

From what I have learned and experienced, the theory of evolution is exactly that; a theory. There is absolutly no direct proof that it is what created all the species of animals and plants on the earth. I can question that theory just as you question my belief that something more powerful than either of us created everthing. Since I beleive that something more powerful than either of us created us and is the foundation of logic, wisdom and consciousness I disagree that it is not logical to believe that. A Creator being the source of logic, wisdom and consciousness makes perfect logical sense.

By that same logic, since you believe in evolution would you say that this "proto-chicken" or your "ancestors"(used the proto-chicken for this example to illustrate what I mean) leading up to humans is the source of your logic, wisdom and consciousness? To me that makes no logical sense either. No matter how many "mutations" occur I don't beleive you can get consciousness from unconciousness. Therefore, you cannot get logic and wisdom from the lack thereof.

"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Greg, start with a dictionary, look up the words "logic", "faith", and "theory."

I don't wanta theological discussion, and not only because it's prohibited by forum rules. Nowhere in my post does it say you're "not allowed" to have your beliefs, and I have no idea where that idea comes from. But those beliefs have nothing to do with logic, they have to do with faith.

And as a side note, faith is just as "learned" as any other knowledge. You believe what you do because someone told you to when you were young. If you were born in India of Indian parents, you'd believe in their Gods, and if no one ever taught you all of that stuff, you wouldn't believe in any of it.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
