Scored this pair of Monitor 7Bs from my local thrift store this afternoon. It's a shame someone borrowed the drivers. But hey, for 10 dollars why not. I have a box full of Mon 7 drivers waiting for a home. My daughter needs a pair so these may get me a hug.

Man, the grill, PR, peerless tweet and cabinet all appear to be in GREAT shape!
You'd have to be nuts NOT to pay 10 bucks for those!
Are they 7B's if they have the peerless tweeters? I thought the B's had Sl2000's, but I could be wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time.:)
Either way a very nice score.:)2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's
Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses
Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's -
Great score. They look like they are in pretty decent shape. Re-cap those suckers. Great sound.
Did they come with the stands ????? -
They are "Bs". I suspect that the drivers were there when they were donated as the saw dust was still around the screw holes. Hope they sound nice in somebody's car.
A guy I know was coming out of the store carrying a huge Sansui receiver. Looked like it may have been from the same donation as it was in as good condition as the speakers. He paid 14 for the receiver.
The stands were probably gone 30 years ago.>

Both 7A's and 7B's had Peerless tweets. The 7's didn't get SL2000's until the 7C's.

Killer steal if the tweets are good! What a waste that the drivers were pulled...almost looks like they pulled the passives thinking they were woofers. At least they put them back, probably didn't even know what they were. At least you have the parts to put 'em right and they'll sing again...I think your daughter will be very pleased with her new loudspeakers.

10 bucks? You could sell the peerless for more than that? Your daughter will love you all the more.
I'm picking up a pair of 5s....will hold onto them for a while though...my daughter is 12 going on 13 so we're still in that dreaded tiny ipod speaker 'age'?
Dad, I DON'T want to be an AUDIOPHILE!!! Those speakers are TOO BIG---just 'wait' a while; it's infectious my dear!
