thanks gd...i've seen carlos and he flat out smokes! that was in 83...winwood sounds great on the dvd he did with clapton...he needs to play more b3, tho..he's definately not in the same galaxy as ec on guitar, imho.

looks like we'll be catching them at the very end of the tour..should be alot of fun..

Winwood and his band was in tip top form.Excellent SQ,,Mr Fantasy,,Gimme some lovin had the whole house rocking.I just can;t say enough about that group,I could listen to them all night.ThenSantana took ther stage,,and after their first 4 songs I thought about leaving--too commercial too many horns. but then they moved into some slower solo guitar from Carlos,,then into jingo,,black magic women (with a little thidr stone from the sun throe]wn in for good measure. The Stones,,"hear me knockin",,Sunshine of your love",,"While my guitar gently weeps",,and closed the show down with a long version of freedom amd some other songs. The first third of the show,I thought about leaving--too bg=right--too much brass,,,then it melowed out to the old school Santana, and that is when the audicence was captivated.
All in all a very lively show with alot on apparent energy--kinda makes you feel good,,even after it's over.

Excellent. I would love to hear all of what you've noted but I really would like to hear Carlos play "jingo" live. Ever since I heard it on the Woodstock album many, many moons ago, I've been nuts about that screaming guitar.

Get ther early-- Winwood opens and you don't wanna' miss him,,prepare yourself for a treat--Santana left the stage with the crowd standing and still wanting more,,they had played for 2 hours--I still "feel good", just running off the energy and vibes of the show.:)
