Are 2 MP2k subs better than 1 MP4k sub?
I just got a MP2k sub and I love the sub but think my room may be too large for great low end distribution, (don't know the measurements of my finished basement...but I will post them later) So I was wondering about the pros and cons of adding a second one or should I just sell the MP2k and get a
MP4k. thanks for your insights

One important thing to consider, is where your main interests lie. Does your system get used mainly for music or HT? A blend of both?
If music is your main concern, I'd say that dual MP2K's may be the way to go. For HT though, the 2000's lack the low end authority of their bigger siblings. The nirvana inducer-

I'll toss you a curveball then....:)
How about keeping the 2k and buying a 4k? You can cross the 2k to do midbass, and cross the 4k to take care of the lowest of lows. I haven't heard an 8" sub yet, that I'd put in any large room. They just can't move as much air as a larger driver. The 4k is a sealed design, so if you wanted to go with just a 4k, it would be fine for pulling double-duty. Multiple subs can be tricky to integrate, but lots of folks here ready to help out.
I'm running a 12" Velodyne with a pair of very small Energy subs. (6 1/2") The small ones are fine for mid bass, but anything deeper, forget it. In my room, they fill in very nicely between the LSi9's and the 12" sub. I have them crossed over as I described.
