I ordered a few things from several sellers about 5 days ago now (All power sellers mind you)

And all the items had arrived in the last few days except for one. And that item I had heard nothing.

Two days ago I sent that seller an email asking for an update - just casual, just something - backordered, whatever.

Nothing... so yesterday I sent an email titled "No Response = Negative Feedback, Paypal Refund"

Within 2 hours the seller responded to my email to say they told me it was backordered (they didnt) and not to mention their auction said they had 9 available....

And then they responded to my second email - "Now now thats no way to act, if you want your money back just ask, dont threaten me!!!"

I responded, I did not threaten you - I just wanted a response and my first email was not responded to. I appreciate you informing me my item is backordered. Thank you.

Do you think I crossed a line here?

Hm - thanks for the response

I thought I was in the right on this -

This is the second time I have ordered something on EBay and the seller told me they had like 10+ in stock and it was backordered.

I would and have cancelled transactions for less.

The whole "We have eleventy billion in stock bid NOW!!!!!!" then change to "it's backordered" or "We're out, sorry" thing really chaps my ****, and i've left negative feedback for it. It's one thing to show two available, and then not be able to come up with one. It's quite another to tell the buyer that you have 10+, and then not have any.

Youre okay. Sometimes you have to cry wolf to get attention.

I got an exceptionally good deal on ebay one time from a big seller, miraculously it was sold out...and a couple days later it was back on ebay. They got negative feed back.

According to ebay, you aren't allowed to threaten negative feedback for any reason, and reasonable shipping times are anything within 2 weeks of payment. It's one of the things that tics me off about ebay, since most sellers demand payment in no more than 5 days and may require payment within 24 hours. However, since ebay has started increasing fees for sellers that don't get all 5 star feedbacks, I haven't had a problem.
