Everyone seems to be getting into fancy fondant decorations making cakes more of a work of art than a delicious treat.
My buddy's wife (best cook I've ever encountered btw) LOVES creating such arts for birthday parties. I figured I'd share one of her creations as it seemed to get a lot of reaction and still does over a year later. It might even give you a cool idea for your own party.
the link is to a contest she entered. If you are bored and feel like signing up to vote for her that would be very much appreciated. Regardless though, check out the pic. The picture honestly doesn't do it justice.
Kick butt cake!
Any of you ever get into fondant fun?

With the various tv shows on lately all about cakes we will continue to see more and more people getting into the hobby. As a worker for Michael's Arts and Crafts it amazes me how heavily our cake decorating section gets shopped. A very expensive hobby to get into... but christ I guess it's nothing compared to what we are all doing
