Well I finally got rid of the old end table I had for the rack and got a real one.It took almost a month to get here and then a few hours to put it together but now its almost set up,It just needs the back put on to stabilize it.It was impossible to wire things up with the back piece in place and I need to cut some holes in certain areas to run power cords and ICs out to the amps.
Its on casters so its easy to move around.

Is it just me or does having the gear on seperate shelves make the music sound better.(the Dragon and DAC will be seperated when the 1m I2S cable gets here. The half meter ZEN AES/EBU cable isnt long enough):(

Looking Good man. One question though... The cabinet appears to be a very tight fit. Do you have enough breathing room around your gear?

I don't think anything in the cabinet really puts out a lot of heat...

The space heaters are on separate stands to either side of the cabinet. ;)
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Nice rack, but agree that the gear looks quite snug between shelves. It might be okay today, but caution against placing hotter-running gear inside in the future.

Though I assume your rack costs less, we have a Salamander Synergy Triple 20 for our main system. Like your rack, it comes in a nice wood finish (different choices) and shelves are adjustable. Unlike your rack, Synergy racks are rock-solid without the standard rear panels installed. Which, BTW, are easily removed for gear/cable access. It also has perforated metal sides to help with heat dissipation.

But, the downside to the Synergy racks is they can be quite pricey...but you can customize exactly as you need. Buy a base rack today, add doors/drawers/sides/casters later...

The pic below is of a previous configuration. It now has the extended rear panels installed so that you can't see through it to the wall behind.

That is a nice rack man.
Ofcourse I have looked at them and countless others from all over the web.But they are a little too pricy for me.I still have upgrades planned for my gear so I didnt spend as much as I could have although I did consider one of those.NICE...Someday though..
My cabinet isnt TOO bad.Its holding up a 135 pound CRT HDTV.
I have adjustible shelves every 5/8th inch. Can order more shelves for it.I can also get the glass doors option.I think I want the glass doors and will order them next month.
I spent hours looking at the hundreds of racks avalible and chose this because it fits my needs and looks a-lot better than a modded end table.
The price was good too...except for the shipping.

    I paid 250.00.Plus shipping..(72lbs)

Thanks for the complement. The rack started off as a basic IKEA Benno (?) stand many, many years ago, and have upgraded to Salamander over time. First a Single 40, then a Twin 20, added a Twin 30, etc.

I actually found just the two triple-wide cherry shelves on Ebay, so got them cheap and had enough posts from other purchases to assemble the Triple. I still see various Synergy racks on ebay (and local CL) that are a decent deal, so you might keep that in mind as a future option...

Glad your stand can hold your 135# CRT. FWIW, the Salamander supports my weight with no problem, and I'm, er...a little heavier than that...:o

    BTW - what's a CRT?? ;)

    Here's a pic from 2005, showing an old Twin 20 supporting a 200#+ Sony...

Yes, I was just joking - thus my wink-face-thing. :)

And I thought all us recession-fighting 'mericans had already upgraded to the shiny flat panels!

Well, buy the biggest panel you can swing! In a span of about nine months in 2008-09, we went from a new 42" Hitachi (~ 2yo) to a used (CL) 55" Hitachi to a new 60" Pioneer. I should have skipped the 55 incher as it barely had time to collect dust before I sold it... :o

Have you tried Kimber Kable Hero or Chord Company Cobra series? The Chords have a nice, laid-back sound that (supposedly) works well with UK gear, such as my Rega 2-ch system.

I dont like laid back sound. And I think I would have to go a notch or two above the heros to get close to what I have now.Maybe the others I had just didnt have the synergy the revelations have with my gear.I have a laid back pre and transport and make up for it with silver ICs, power cords, and speaker cables.I love silver.

Check out Goertz Micro Purl I/C's, you may like them. FYI, avoid their Sapphire I/C's, they're silver but don't sound like any other silver cable I've tried.
