Great movie that goes deeper down the rabbit hole than Matrix did. Special effects are great but the story is what makes the movie. Make sure you pee before the movie starts because you won't want to leave during. The very end leaves a little for interpretation and you may find yourself saying "Damn you Chris Nolan!"

I just saw this today; EXCELLENT film!

The sound effects were stellar; the explosions kept blowing the ceiling tiles up at the theater I watched it at in Bowie, MD~

It does not get any better than this. I was so blown away from this movie from beginning to end. And the crowds reaction as the screen went black at the final scene was just priceless.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's fight scene was one for the ages. I don't want to give it away, but it was down right crazy. And what about Ellen Page? I thought she may have been the weak link going into seeing this movie, but she did a stellar job!

Cannot wait to see this again.

I'm with you guys, one of the best movies I've seen in along time. My wife not so much. Like others have said it is a complicated story and you must pay attention but one that is well worth the price of admission.

Wow, not the reviews I expected for this one. I didn't expect it to even be rated as good, much less the best movie many of you have seen in a while. I might have to go see it after all...

No question. This is one of those movies which you might want to watch more than once to catch everything. Don't want to discuss anything here to spoil anything but does nayone happen to know of a site where the movie is discussed?

this sums it up.. the Matrix meets The Italian Job... combine those two movies and you end up with Inception. Sorry for the spoiler if that was one ;)

above average movie to me.. props to CGI team, pretty decent effects though.. sound track was also decent. I didn't hate it and i didn't think it was the best movie ever either.. above average to me.

Gordon Levitt, Ellen Page, and Leonardo DiCaprio did really good jobs with their parts.

this comparison is an insult to Inception.

I first heard abt the existence of this movie last year and I always wanted to see it as I've always been obsessed+fascinated by life within dream ideas since I was small. there were so much detail in the movie and it really demands your attention every second. I truly believe this is the best movie I have seen. No nude scene, but the story is entirely captivating.

The japanese guy was fine but they shouldn't have had him explain a lot of stuff due to his english.

Fantastic movie, horrible theater. I paid $9.50 to watch it on a misconverged DLP projector where everything white had a red outline to the right and green to the left... and they had the volume so high that the trailer for Julia Roberts' latest movie made the speakers distort. God, I miss THX's Theater Alignment Program. This particular theater has had the misaligned DLP projector on that one screen for over a year now, despite my complaints, and it seems like I always end up in that theater.

And now you know why I have my home theater. It's ridiculous that my home LCD projector has better convergence than their Christie DLP projector. Can't wait for the Blu-ray of this so I can watch it the way it was meant to be seen, and without the distorted mess of having it WAY overcranked.

I had a similar experience, but I paid $11 each (for a 3:30pm show!) and it was a film projector! I thought they were all DLP now? Even though the film is only 2 weeks old, it had scratches and spots all over the damn place. The sound was awful too. Too loud/distorted in many scenes. Dialog unintelligible in some scenes. God, I hope the BD is better mastered.

Great movie though and it will be on my must purchase list when it is finally released.

ahh reminds me of our great place. 8.95 for a movie and the screen is about 1/4 the size of any normal theater screens. Seriously our "mega screen" which there is only 1 in the whole theater is the size of a normal screen you would see in a chicago theater, or somewhere like that. Take that and add typically horrible LFE channel and you got what is called our "campus theater" small, horrible sound, and normally the projector is not focused on the screen properly.

For this movie they did turn up the LFE acutally however still had the problem that the upper parts of the movie didn't fill the whole screen and often there were scratches in certain parts but better than others I've seen there.

I got a response from Carmike's district manager:
I am very sorry you have been unhappy with our presentation in theater #8 at the Wynnsong 16 in Mobile. Upon receiving your message we requested a visit from the Christie Digital System Tech. The tech viewed "Inception" today along with our projection team but they were unable to detect the issues you describe. A diagnostic test revealed nothing out of alignment. Theater #8 is indeed one of our main theaters and we strive to provide the best possible presentation. If you notice this problem in the future please ask for a member of management and make them aware.

That's funny... 'cause I've been telling the management for a year now, every time I get stuck watching a new movie on that screen. I responded:
I appreciate your quick response, but I have no idea how they could not see it. You can visibly see a red edge to the right and a green edge to the left on the far edges of the image during your initial marketing slideshows, the trailers and the movie itself – a very clear sign that the three DLP panels are misconverged. On faces, when there is a bright background, the face gets a red outline to the right hand side. None of the other screens in the Wynnsong theater seem to have this issue. I could seriously walk into theater #8 with a camera and capture an image of it before the movie even starts. It is absolutely that far off, making the entire image look unfocused and smeared. White text, especially during opening and closing credits, has a very obvious red outline to the right.

If you tell me they checked it out, I have to take it on faith that this actually happened. That said, I find it very difficult to believe that a trained tech could look at the image thrown by that particular projector and not immediately see the problem. It’s not off by a small amount. If I had that much misconvergence on one of my home projectors, you can bet that it would be going in for service.

Thank you for your time. I suppose this means that nothing was actually done to fix the problem, so I will try my best to avoid screen #8 in the future.

I just fired off a message to Christie Digital describing the problem and inquiring whether they actually sent a tech out, because 1) I find it hard to believe they flew someone out to Mobile, AL on a single day's notice and 2) if they did, the guy should be fired... because he's blind as a bat. I didn't have that much misconvergence on my Sanyo PLV-Z2000, and it was a 3-chip LCD projector.

Yeah, I'm probably taking it too far, but there's no way in hell a trained tech looked at that image and thought that projector was working correctly. This may be what finally breaks me of ever going to a theater... because honestly, if my Epson 8500UB throws a sharper and better aligned image than the place charging $9.50 a movie and $5.95 for a large drink, what the hell is the point? I can just buy the Blu-ray when it comes out and get a superior presentation.

I know, right? It's like... I have 9.2 surround, a Buttkicker and a 1080p projector on a 100" screen from like 9 feet away... and I can watch it in my underwear while eating a steak and drinking a beverage that didn't cost me more than a paperback novel. Shouldn't the theaters be stepping up their game and giving us an excuse to come out instead of giving us every reason to stay home?

I agree with this in regular movies, but the IMAX is a different story. Inception at the IMAX was great.
