I have a Pioneer SC-05 and do not use the 2 rear channels. I can use them to bi-amp my monitor 70s, I am just curious what posts on the monitor 70s are the highs and which are the lows so I hook it up correctly.

Kr, welcome. No, as has been discussed here several times recently, you can't connect the unused rear surround channels to bi-amp your mains. Bi-amping requires two separate amplifiers(a receiver is one amplifier with several output channels)with an external crossover before the amplifiers so that each gets only the desired frequency range to amplify.

Connecting the one main power supply section in the receiver to a speaker through two sets of output transistors(one set previously unused)can't double the amount of power available to the speaker, as some imagine, or increase it by any amount. The output transistors have no power of their own and simply function as valves to distribute the amount of voltage required at any instant from the power supply section to the speaker. The single power supply section has no more capacity when distributed through two channels than it does when distributed through one.

With the SC-05 you can, it has a Bi-amp mode that you can turn on in the settings. From what I have read these ICE amps in the pioneer elite receivers can make a speaker sound better when Bi-amped. I will post my results. If worst comes to worst I will be stuck with the fantastic sound I am already used to :D

That is what is known as ghetto bi-amping, it is not true bi-amping. True bi-amping requires two separate amplifiers (as in separate power supplies) that are gain matched and some would argue correctly that it also requires the use of active crossovers.
