My Harman is a dud

Serves me right for buying from a college student off eBay. Left channel is producing next to no sound... So effing irritating. For the record, it's a refurbished HK 3490.
I'm sure the problem existed a while ago, but it was hooked up to an amp for a while. Which leads me to believe it's amp-related. Anything quick and easy I should check before I throw in the towel? I've swapped RCA's, swapped speaker cables... it's definitely amp left channel.

I assume you've made sure the shorting links between the pre out /amp in are connected properly?

Yep, swapped those too.

Well you could confirm it's the amp section of that ch.if you remove the links and run an IC from the pre out of the other ch to the amp in.
