have q about onkyo 807 and 1007

i am looking at getting one or the other i have found a good review for the 807 that gives me what the reciever does with all channels driving do any of you know a place i can get the same info for the 1007

The 1007 has 50% more power available according to the power supply specification, but it also has 2 more channels to drive. I don't think you'd see an enormous difference between them, not nearly as much of a difference as adding an external amp to either at least.
Also consider that the 1007 has MultEQ-XT while the 807 only has MultEQ. -
Even though I love my 807... It really needs external power, especially if you are going to go 7 channel. When I added my first 5150 to drive the fronts it made a noticeable difference in sound and in the heat produced.(these things are TOASTERS) If you are going serious ht expect to want more power, because if you are driving 5 channels I would bet that they won't be at much more than 60 watts each. I only use the 807's power to drive the height channels now, so I should be giving them the whole 135.
