Just Ranting

I've had about 12 Lite Ice beers and feeling no pain. Wife and Kids are in bed and I have way too much time to think and can't sleep. So here I go. Some times I feel things just are a little bit unfair. I try to put things in perspective most of the time but sometimes I just get pissed. Some of you no my situation with my LSI15 and while I'm normally alright with it, right now I want to rant.
I tried to get my Center Chanel earlier, but Troy beat me. Nothing against him, but I read were the post by STUFFMD at work and the system at work crashed and I could not respond. I then beg my boss to take two hours off and raced home, but I was too late. Does any one else out there just get the feeling that things are stacked against them?

Hey Bro,
I think the beer is talking, don't listen to it. You've got a wife and kids, what other blessings do you really need. I don't know what part of the country you are in, but if you're anywhere near me then bring those speakers over here and I'll fix them for you.
I've seen e-tool lurking the forums and it certainly looks like he isn't going to man up, but if he doesn't then he should know he's not welcome here. What's more important, material possessions or your dignity....I'll take dignity everytime.
I'm sure you've heard this before, Life isn't fair! And that's the facts, jack. It'll be better tomorrow or the next day...............

I'm loaded too, but put me down for $50 towards the LSi15 damage fund, if nothing works out with the seller.
I'm not going to speak for Troy, but being the stellar individual he is, you might shoot him an email, and discuss your situation. Stranger things have happened, trust me.

Your right F1nut and I'm know I'm a lucky man in many ways. But some times you just have to shout. Tommorow this will mean nothing and I will be my normal self, but today I want to feel sorry for myself. I know, kind of selfish, and kind of self centered, and I my regrate this in the morning . Some times life builds on you and you just say stop it for a while.
- Over the week we lost a house we put a bid on.
- My dad who over the years has had mental problems, just went into another round and who knows where that will go.
- My five year old just got her report card back saying she may not be mentally ready for kidneygarden. She is a great girl, a little hyped, buy not worth the critisism they gave her.
- And the list goes on.
I won't even get into work. Like most of you guys this is not a great time for us. -
I'm sorry faster100 it was you I was responding to.
-
I wish I could chip in something but the way funds have been around here I am just about flat broke all the time, but I will lend my support to the cause as best I can and I think it is just great that we have so many friends here that we can call family and that are willing to give a little when a bro is in need. You guys are really something.:)
Cheers,

Guys,
I'm not looking for cash. I thank you for the understanding and your offers, but that is not why I let loose. Like I said I know I sound like some kind of blow hard. It is the beer ( of course I just started some J.D. so it could get worse, but I just needed to vent a little. And trust me you have help be making me not feel like such a loser for my whinning.
Thanks. -
Dude, first of all, you are no loser.
Second, I wouldn't be suprised if we can put *something* in your pocket to help make the deal a *little* more square.
Don't count these guys out, they (we) take care of their own. Besides, I'm happy to contibute to isnure ome good audio karma down the road. Hell, if the HALF the alcoholics here sacrificed drinking 2-3 nights this month, those 15's would be paid for.

Far as I'm concerned, work out a deal with Stuff and the LSiC is yours. No hard feelings amigo.
Count me in for a few bucks in the kitty as well. In fact, if F1 is willing to do the work, hell, I'll cover the shipping costs and help defray some of F1's expenses. I'm sure that we could get some proper shipping boxes from Polk for Janusch to ship them in.
And don't worry, sooner or later, that shitbag etool will get his. What a parasite.
As far as the rest of it, when it comes to blowing off steam, trust me, I can relate. Right about now, I'd give every scrap of gear I own for an hour with my wife.
Keep good thoughts brother and everything will work out.

Thanks Troy but you grab it. I feel better this morning (except for the hangover), and again just bitchen last night nothing more.
Update, A friend is coming over the weekend to look at the speakers. He is pretty good at this stuff and I'm sure they will look as good as they sound in no time.
P.S.
After I went to bed work called me to fix a production problem. Now that was fun fixing that after what I drink:D -
Hey guys I'm also in on the LSi recoupe fund. Hell I would have ended up with the things had Janusch not beat me to them.
Janusch we are all here fo ya. Sometimes life is just the ****, just when you think it can't get any worse it does..believe me, I have experience the worst of it..but man it does get better. Yes it does!suds, suds and more suds! -
Hey, if you've got the CS400i to trade to Stuff, it would work best for both of you as I'm at least a month away from being able to get home to complete the transaction.
dthomps is still in the market for a CS400i as well so either way, it'll all work out.

Janusch,
Just touching on your daughter for a moment. Of coarse I do not know the whole situation, nor do I know how "hyped" your kid can be at times.
But I do know that I recieved that same little letter for my youngest son Ryan. But I recieved that letter in the form of a very deflating one on one talk from his teachers. They said he was uninterested in school. He was making very minimal progress over the year. He was not communicating with his peers. You know what it was? The kid was freaking shy! He was intimidated by the whole idea of talking in front of his class, and interacting with them. And these so called teachers could not recognize it.
But we sent him to kindergarden any ways. It was the best thing we could have done. He just finished with first grade this past month, he is not the top student, but he is way better than average. He has a ton of friends, and both of his teachers (Kinder, and 1st grade) loved him.
You are the parents, you make the decision on what is best for the little one. Don't go by that paper either. All it is, is just a piece if paper. A lot of developement will happen over the summer, and come fall more than likely she will be ready....for whatever you decide.
Good Luck -
U.S. Grant, during the brutal final couple of years of the civil war, used to go into his tent at the end of the day and get shitfaced and cry like a baby. But he wasn't drunk nor crying the next morning when it was time to start again.
There isn't anything wrong with ranting, or 'losing it', or complaining or screaming that life isn't fair... just don't let that attitude drive your future actions.
As much as I wish it weren't so, public schools are not currently equipt to deal with kids outside a narrow zone of behavior and ability. My five year old daughter is, objectively, very smart. Her vocabulary and sentence structure is beyond that of the last checker I dealt with at WalMart. As a result, we're home schooling. As for the letter and criticism of your daughter... remember.. keep criticism in perspective, and one of the most important things is *who* the criticism is coming from. Ya, the school has an element of control, but YOU know your daughter better than they.
If you want to do something positive, READ to your daughter as much as possible.. read read read all summer long (and not to imply you don't already read to her). Not only will it help her across the board, but the time spent with her on your lap is priceless. I already am beginning to feel the sadness and meloncholy that comes with them growing up. I put my kids to bed last night.. and stayed in bed for the night myself just because I couldn't bear the thought of letting go of them at that moment. Geez... just about makes me weepy thinking about it now.
Other houses and other speakers will come and go. -
I would also like to chime in regarding our children. I have absolutely no faith in a teachers ability to assess the development of our children. Hell I would not allow a gradeschool teacher to balance my checkbook.
That said, avelanchefan said it best, "You are the parents, you make the decision on what is best for the little one. "
My daughter is ~2.5 and just started trying to talk. My family was all over me while on vacation about her lack of communication skills. I know it is my fault because I spoil the **** out of her and cater to her every whim without forcing her to speak. Tally may not be able to speak sentences at this point but she sure does understand what I'm saying to her and she absolutely knows what she wants and when she wants it. That to me is a very important step in a childs development. I care less what the books say or the perceptions of others in regard to her development. You paly with your little girl, you watch what she does and if you don't feel there is an issue then take others opinions with a grain of salt.
In my eyes my daughter is the smartest, most beautifull and entertaining little person in my life. I will continue to support and spoil her till the day I die.
Just my thoughts.
Best regards and keep the chin up and the after hour beers going down the hatch and you'll be fine. If you ask for help I'm there with the rest of the gang.

Great support guys....;)
I don't want to trivialize what you're going through, life hasn't kicked me too hard yet. Unfortunately, it usually takes bad events to realize what's really important to you in life. Last summer and fall i had few things happen with my car and at work that I let it get to me. At some point things got better and thought to myself it could have been worse. I could have been severely injured in the car accident I was in.
This past weekend I stood in my buddy's wedding. What a way to display and strengthen the importance of a friendship. He included me in the most important day of his life. All of our friends from out of town come out. A lot love and emotion to go around. It's absolutely priceless. Sunday night, I was sitting back reflecting on the weekend that just past and thought life was good. I'm going to be using this as a future reference when things get a little tough for me.
That etool's a deadbeat. Count me in on that LSI fund. It won't be much with the whole Canadian to U.S. conversion rate though.

Hey Janusch
I also wanted to add to the topic of your daughter-
My parents got the same letter about me when I was getting ready for kindergarten. I don't think such things are real inhibitions or tell-tales at all, (I may not be the best example, but hell I'm here!...:D)
I think my parents were worried too, but everything turned out fine and I ended up graduating at the top of my class in highschool last year.
Nothing to worry about, to be sure.
Mike -
When my youngest daughter (almost 16 and a sophomore-to-be in HS) was getting ready to go into kindergarten we had her go through an evaluation. She was just 15 days within the age cutoff to start which would make her just about the youngest in her class. The test showed that she was about 5 months below her chronological age in her skills and learning development. She also had a bit of a speech impediment.
We took the advise of the school and held her back due to the fact that she was going to be young to begin with and with her ability lagging behind it might be very difficult for her. The school put her in speech therapy even though she was not going to school that year (she was in therapy for 3+ years). This was absolutely the BEST thing we could have done. The additional maturity and improved speech did wonders for her. Once they started actually giving letter grades she maintained a 3.9 GPA through elementary and middle school. She has been able to take advance placement courses in her freshman year of HS and kept a 3.85 GPA for the first year. I don't think that she would have been able to accomplish this had she started a year earlier.
Don't get caught up in the age thing. My daughter thinks it's cool that she will have her driver's license less than a month into her sophomore year while some of her friends wont have them until they are almost Juniors. Since she was so close to the cutoff, several of her friends turn 16 soon after her so there is no stigma of being the oldest.
Sometimes the school people do know what they are talking about. Listen...weigh all the options...and then do what YOU feel is in the best interest of your daughter!

Thanks guys,
Many words of wisdom being pounded at the keyboard. Like I said earlier this morning, I do feel alot better today. The day really started to improve when my self imposed headache left .
Troy, I will contact Stuff if you really can't do anything for a month, but you say the word and I'm off it. The only reason I even brought it up last night was to give an example of how things were going.
Like I've posted my faith in this group has not deminished. You are a great bunch people.
Dave
P.S.
As for my daughter I definitely have more faith in her ablitity then that of the school district. I will listen to them, and will give her any extra help that they offer, but with caution. -
My dollars are with you as well and I hope all else goes well. I'm just annoyed at this whole rip off thing you just went through. I can't believe anyone could really feel OK with themselves after letting you down this way. As I see it the guy buys these speakers for $810, pays shipping and sells them to you for $975 (more than his total) and is too freakin cheap to pay for the extra ahipping to get them to you in reasonable condition or to take care of the problem he caused. What a looser. THIS IS NOT THE POLK SITE!!! Don't worry about him. We will make sure you have a happy ending here. Somehow...
When things look really bad take a look at your friends and family, then look at what other people deal with, and I'm sure everything will look better... at least in the morning.

Oh, and I'm down with the 15-fund as well...
Janusch,
Bag the 400i TroyD green-lighted. He's still in the sand box for a while, and when he gets home the last thing on his mind is going to be a speaker deal for quite a while...More later,

Janusch,
Cool, bag the center, by all means.
Also, don't view it as a charity gig or whatever. There are folks on this forum that have done me countless solids so in some small way if I can pay it forward, it's the least I can do. Guys like Mr. Grand, Russ, madmax, Tour, Micah and a host of others have gone out of thier way to be kind to me. When I think of it all, it puts a bit of a lump in my throat. It's not about the gear either, it's about a sense of family and belonging.
I'd suggest before we start writing checks, let's see what we are up against vis a vis repairs or having to get new cabs or what.
You guys restore my faith in humanity.

Guys please,
I thank you, but I'm not looking for money from you. Do not take this the wrong way, but there is only one person out there that I would not send it back if it was offered.
How can I say this with out sounding like a woman at a shower. I've had more support and understanding with you here then in most of my life. That alone is worth more then the cost of those speakers. Sometimes you forget that there are good people out there and you are not alone. Like I said in my posting things work out. Not nessisarly how you planned them or wanted them, but in most cases better.
Again Thanks
