Outdoor speaker recommendation w/$500 budget?

My neighbor asked me this past weekend for a recommendation. Of course I recommended Polk. But have zero experience with any outdoor speakers. We live out in the country on the lake, so noise complaints will not be an issue. She has an older model Onkyo AVR (mid 90's model probably) she wants to use. And she wants speakers that will have a good bass response. Speakers will be mounted well under the roof of a detached carport, well thats where she is wanting to mount them.

Her budget is around $500. Recommendations please? Better to spend that amount on speakers or speakers and a new receiver perhaps?

Keep in mind....her main criteria is good bass, can play fairly loud and a $500 budget.

Side note: Getting something with an RF remote would be sweet!

Based on the pricing indicated on the site, 1 sub and 1pr of the satellites will overshoot her budget by about a hundred bucks though.

Check the ebay store for a pair of Atrium 60s, very nice speaker that plays very well.
