Hi All:

I am purchasing RC80is as my front speakers in my 2nd home theater setup and most likely CS20 as my central channel. (My main home theater is my den). I am on a budget and was considering the PSW125 as my subwoofer to more closely timbre match the other Polks. However, the place I was ordering the speakers from suggested an altenative subwoofer, the Infinity PS212, a $400 speaker which was on sale for $399.

which one would you go with for a 900 sq. foot finished basement? Does voice matching really make a difference?

Thanks for your consideration.

You don't need to worry about voice matching with a subwoofer.

I don't have any experience with the PSW125, but I had the previous model of the 12" Infinity. I had it in a much smaller room than you have and it is what I consider "muddy" sounding. It's ok for movie rumble, but not the best for music. I don't know if either of those subs will handle a room that size. I guess you can always add a second sub later if the one you choose doens't have the output to make you happy.

I don't think the room size is an issue but in regards to voice matching, no worries. I agree with 98badger as it's not neccesary.

I'd HIGHLY suggest the Polk DSW Pro 400 over the PSW125 if at all possible. It's hits harder, lower and is a much better subwoofer than either of your current posted choices.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
