Anybody else 'drop in' on the AMC July weekend marathon of John Wayne movies?
I was able to watch only three:
The Horse Soldiers
The Cowboys
Maclintock
I really enjoyed seeing The Cowboys - been years since I watched that movie. Lots of folks don't consider John Wayne a 'good' actor, but dang, I thought his performance in this movie was great.

H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.

+ 1 on what your saying. The best acting he did IMHO was his role in "The Quiet Man""They're always talking about my drinking, but never mention my thirst" Oscar Wilde

Love Duke!!! Hate AMC since they changed their format quite a while back. I wish TCM (Turner Classic Movies) would do a Duke-a-thon! No commercials lots of good backround info on the movies.

I think the duke was a great actor. At least compared to today's fodder. And he was tough because he WAS TOUGH. Not because he went to the spa to get some biceps.
