America's Least Manly City Newspaper

I'd hate to think that anyone here missed this important news: America's Manliest Cities.

The long and short of it is that a snack food company that claims the honor of "The Official Cheesy Snack Food of NASCAR" rates the American cities (snack food markets) in order of their respective manliness. Sure, cheesy snack food sales figured into the mix, but I'm sure there is more.

I note that Portland (the one on the left coast) came in dead last among manly cities surveyed. I quote here from the local newspaper "The Oregonian" (and I'm not making this up) "Who wants to live in a testosterone-throbbing city anyway?"

Hummm, I must say, given the magnitude of the insult, that does seem like a rather pussified defense to me. Portland doesn't sound too manly but then does a city with twenty-eight breweries (Portland is home to more breweries than any other city in the country) really need to explain itself to a snack food company? I would say, however, that "The Oregonian" must surely qualify as America's least manly Newspaper.

If anyone here knows of a more un-manly newspaper, speak now or forever loose bragging rights.

The Oregonian does have one of the all-time worst sport sections in the country. But with the Internet, who cares?!

Never been to Oregon but aren't they known for lumber and forestry and Portland was at one point a major shipbuilding port city? Sounds quite manly to me. I sure wouldn't want to tangle with a logger with a chainsaw.
