As You Watch/Hear the Illegal Fireworks..

A personal rant.
Gotta wonder how many of the idiots blowing off illegal fireworks can name the true symbolism of their actions. It is a recreation of the Battle of Fort McHenry, with the British warships at the gates of Baltimore Harbor laying siege to the fort and the American troops firing back. All the while Old Glory standing, fluttering and out of view of the smoke. After 24 hours of constant bombing, the British stopped and the citizens of Baltimore saw the flag still atop the pole.
Thankfully, Francis Scott Key while being held aboard a British ship was able to pen the immortal words. "Rockets red glare, bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there!"

Great stuff! When I was in Baltimore Inner Harbor many, many, many times for the July 4th activities I would always visit Ft. McHenry. Great tour and a wonderful presentation on that historical event!

I forgot to mention this. You could sit on a ferry boat on the water and watch the spectacular fireworks directly overhead as they fired them off from the barges on the water. Very, very awesome and temporarily deaf by the grand finale. I went there for years and years every 4th with my older son until recently.
Great seafood, great cigar's and that is where I tried had that clear , single malt scotch made by a Scottish company located in Jamaca they I spoke of in the scotch thread. -

HAHA, no, I live in NH Joe; it's like the anti-Massachusetts. As they say in Edge of Darkness, "everything's illegal in Massachusetts." I don't think you can even have sparklers down there. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Here's a picture of the stockpile of fireworks my buddy is getting ready to shoot off in Lionville, PA.

Yeah man and did we go at it back then or what!?! Just goes to show how we here on CP can be at each other's throats at times and friends with great comraderie afterwards. Just like the old days when you had a dispute you went at it and when done got up and shook each other's hands. Good Stuff!!!:) -
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation,
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n - rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto--"In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. -
Thanks Dad.......Army Lt.(ret) and at rest....

Nothin' wrong with celebrating our independance day with some fireworks.
Sad thing is, I saw a poll the other day, 1 in 4 people don't know who we won our freedom from. With some claiming places like China ,Japan , Russia...ya have to wonder what the heck is going on in our history classes. Sad...just sad.HT SYSTEM-

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
