tire bead rocks

Here's one I hadn't seen. This guy went off the road and somehow little rocks wedged themselves between the tire bead and the rim without the tire going flat.

Must have been slidin' sideways. The tire would have been rolling over on the sidewall while sliding and scooping up all kinda of junk. When it finally stopped, the tire snapped back to its original position and pinned a few pebbles in there.
I've seen it before but those are pretty large. I'm surprised that tire isn't flat. It's gotta be way outta balance though!Expert Moron Extraordinaire

That part of the rim is not what seals the tire. I've seen chunks of that area of the rim missing before with no ill effect on air holding capability. Still scary as hell though.

From the picture, they are large enough to pull the bead away from "the part of the rim that seals the tire" far enough that it could leak air.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
