If I had a JMW tonearm, I'd pick one up. Did bookmark that page since I plan on picking up a VPI table sometime before too horribly long.

If you have any of the VPI tonearms that does NOT have a set screw in the end of the tonearm, I would recommend this. Without the set screw, the counter weight adjusts both the VTF and azimuth concurrently. I found it to be a real pain to calibrate having both of these functions coupled together.

The set screw decouples the dual functionality of the oblong counter weight and allows independent azimuth and VTF adjustment. The azimuth is set by rotating the counter weight. Coarse VTF can be set by sliding the counter weight to the approximate location. There is enough travel of the set screw to allow 0.3 or 0.4 grams of VTF adjustment IIRC.

If you have the set screw at the end of the arm, I don't think this is necessary as I can independently adjust all of the setting on my JMW-9 Signature tonearm.

Some of the older JMW 10" tonearms I have tried may also not need this as well.
