Acer Aspire One Help Needed

My wife has an Acer Aspire One ZG5 netbook which my son dropped. Unfortunately it landed on the corner where the power cord plugs into the edge of the netbook and broke the female plug mounted to the motherboard. I called Acer, but because its out of warranty, they were no help and referrred me to Mundocorp which handles all their parts and service. They do not have access to this part for some reason, so.....Can anyone help with how to buy just the power plug socket? I can remove the old and solder a new in place, just don't know how to spec it or where to look. Anyone have a non-working Acer netbook that could be canbalized for parts? Thanks

Check out www.digikey.com to see if you can't find the part # for the jack you need. Then you could buy from them, or someone else at that point.

Thanks disneyjoe7. I called Digi-Key and although they carry a multitude of sockets, they admitted they have a poor track record of matching OE parts from the big manufactures. I can supply them with the plug barrel dimensions, but would also need to provide the socket mounting dimensions otherwise it may not mount properly to the motherboard. Doesn't sound like a sure thing for them to replace. That's what I get for a $200 laptop.....Parasound HCA-2003A & 2205A

It maybe best to download the catalog section, and see if a connection seem to be the one. Then enter the part # and go to the manufacture to see the pdf drawings to see for sure. I sure someone makes something, but then again it could be just an OEM part. If so someone makes it just for them, and not a general part the average Joe can get.
