Hello Polk fans,
I'm looking to get my toes wet into some vintage polks. Being a klipsch guy for the better part of a decade i was quit humbled listening to a pair of SDA-1Cs and a pair of Monitor 12s last week at a friends house. So here i am looking to try some thing new so any help or suggestion on models i should be looking at will be greatly Appreciated. I'm not picky at this point so any speaker from the sda line or a pair of Monitor 12 series 2 will do as long as their in decent shape.

Welcome !!!!!
I'd skip the Minitor 12's and jump right into the sda line. Keep a look out on Craigslist. -
If you'd be interested instead in either Monitor 10s or Monitor 7s, I have a pair of each available. The 10s I bought new in '88 and are in excellent condition. The 7s, I'm the second owner, are in very good condition.
I also have a pair of basic floor stands that would work good with either pair.
I'm located in the Hopkins/Minnetonka area.

I will be around your aera this weekend. How much are you asking for them?

Unless you are going to post something forsale in the FM you are breaking the rules.
I would take it offline.
Welcome to CP to both of you. Hopefully you both stick around and become a part of the family.
I have owned both the M12s and 1Cs. I bought pristine 12s $175 and one owner wood end cap 1Cs for $300.
The 1Cs are still with me and I have put another $600 into them and have no plans to let them go. They are that good.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Would you say the going rate for M12s is around $175, only reason i ask is that some one is offering me a pair for $300 they look a little scuffed far from mint imo.

$175 would be in great shape.
$300 in any condition is too much as far as I concerned.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

kn505: I'd like to take it offline, as thsmith suggested, but I can't send you a personal message since I don't have 10 posts yet. I guess I could throw my two cents in here and there to get up to 10.
Otherwise, send me a personal message and we can see if meeting up this weekend is feasible. -
OK. PM sent.
