Polk 1200.1 replacing (2) 500.1 mono blocks ??

I currently have two Polk SR12 DVC Subs each being pushed by its own older carbon series 500.1 monoblock amp. If I were to replace the 2 monoblocks with a single Polk 1200.1, would that be better than my current setup and if so what would be the best way to wire the two SR12 DVC to that amp?

Not really.
Theyre getting 500 watts a piece now and the new amp would deliver 600 watts a piece. Chances are, you wont hear a difference in volume at all. Id stay with what you got and use that money to upgrade elsewhere like a head unit with great tuning features like time alignment and 3 way crossover and such.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

That makes sense. I knew I would only be picking up a little but was not sure if it would be noticeable enough to matter. Im set on HU until Alpine releases a Nav unit I like.
What do you think about this? My car is a Scion TC. Im happy with my front component. The rears are hooked up as well but I do not really need them. Seldom is there anyone riding in the back. If I were to free up the rear channel on my Polk 400.4 and was able to custom make a sealed enclosure to accomodate either 2 eights or 2 six inch subs do you think that would be a good addition? This is assuming I could make a sealed enclosure that fit in the area provided for the stock rear speakers. -
What are you running for fronts? I'd disconnect the rears and bi-amp the front components, maybe look to go active if your hu allows that. I wouldn't add two more 8" subs. You already have 2x12" thats plenty.
