My CD player has short legs that do not allow my amp much breathing room fro cooling. I don't have any way of placing it anywhere but on top the reciever and me tech says thats killing my old carver. where would you look for some longer /taller feet?

You want to talk with Mr. M-500t or you can visit his site, http://www.avrisers.net

Yes, I was talking about AV Risers, thank you. And yes, there are two Carver forums (not specifically "Carver Audio"). www.thecarversite.com is the other one, and I am sure you know about it.

No, there is only one Carver forum. The other site you linked is simply a venue to promote the amp mods done by the pathological liar that runs it.

I've used these cork/rubber pads in the past, about $10/four at your local Grainger store. Adds an additional inch between components.

Yep, always cool to learn what other people do!

Regarding the cork pads I mentioned, I've noticed other online AV stores sell the exact same product, but at ~2x the price (usually $24/four). And if the lighter-colored cork bothers you, there's always a black Sharpie...

I love Granger. They also have chub packs of silicone gaskets for cheap which make great tube dampers. I'll have to check out some of those feet!
