Merging HD's in W7

I have two 250GB Seagates in my computer, as well as a 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3. I use one 250GB for my OS and programs, and the 1TB for everything else. Didn't even bother formatting the other 250GB, though it's still connected. Well, I just checked, and I only have 24GB left free on my 250GB HD. I'm thinking this isn't so good.

Is there a way I can "merge" my two 250GB HD's into one? Create one logical drive from the two physical drives? And preferably from within W7? I know W7 has some pretty useful partition management options.

And if I indeed can do something like this, is it advisable? I know that it's bad to have a HD almost maxed out - which is where I'm at at the moment. So if I merge these two, would it behoove me somehow to 'unload' my current 250GB a bit onto the other one? And if so, how?

I'd really really appreciate any input you could give on the matter!

Thanks!!

Right click on 'Computer' and select 'Manage'. Go into 'Storage->Disk Management'. From the extra 250GB create a 'spanned volume'.

Sami, I hope you know you're awesome!!

It seems as though you can't make a spanned volume with your boot hard drive, though. :(

Guess I'll have to think of another solution.

Thanks for the info. The reason I was wanting to do this is because my Steam folder is nearing 200GB, if it's not there already. I ended up just keeping the two drives as separate, but moved my Steam folder to the other HD. Should work for a while at least.

    Thanks again!
