I picked up a pair of Advent Maestros for $20 and they are in pretty good shape other then woofers and was wondering if these would be worth paying to have then refoamed (see pics below) and if they would work well in conjunction with my Polk 5Jr's.

Do the re-foam yourself very easy and lots of places to get the foam for around 20.00. Just Google Advent refoam and you should get a good sized list. Call or E-mail and ask questions

I got mine from e-bay. Very common with the foam Advents.
Never put them together, can't comment if they will work with the Mon 5's -
The Polks while smaller sound a lot better at this point. I'm wondering if the sound quality on the Advents are not up to snuff because of the woofer situation?Monitor 7C's With Tubes

No way !!!!!!
They use a sealed cabinet. They need the woofers in one piece to produce ANY bass. -
I noticed the bass was lacking a lot, darn!!! I'm not sure what to do. I have a line on a pair of 10A's I might just scrap the Advent's pick up the 10A'sMonitor 7C's With Tubes

Great idea. I agree with you.

Very inexpensive, only problem is the $30 minimum order - so stock up!
JimBI can fix it but good!

Picked up my 10A's last night, got them up and running on my SX-980. They sound great now I just need to get rid of the Advent's & the 5 Jr's as I have no need for 3 sets of speakers.Monitor 7C's With Tubes
