I am looking for opinions on
carver M500T. I know some love Carver stuff and some think anything made by Carver is junk. But I also know that there are very helpfull people here and I can count on some unbiased opinions. One for sale local for $200.00, supposed to be in excellent condition. Please let me know what you guys think. Currently running Audio Mirror T61 pre into a Carver TFM24 into Salk Song Towers.

Thanks, Maurice

$200.00 is a very good price for a working M500T in good cosmetic condition, of course being as old as it is new caps are going to have to be installed at some point unless that has allready been done recently.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I agree for the price it's a very good bargain. If it needs to have work done your still in good shape call Rita www.ritasvintageaudio.net or Roland at carver service Hi Tech audio both are very knowledgeable with Carver gear. Good luck

That's below average price; factor in a rebuild @ $350 into your decision--snow is right, if this amp has not been rebuilt the caps are shot.

I've got two of them and really like them. Rolland charges around $280 to bring it up to spec with all new caps. They are great sounding amps with a "tubelike" sound.

I've been listening to Carver stuff for 25 years and I still love it. It sounds like tube gear but has the oomph to push your not so sensitive modern speakers...go for it!

Very very good price. Many consider this one of the better sounding Carver amps.
