I got my 198 tweeters from Polk a couple of days ago. To make a long story short, the Xovers have not been upgraded yet, but will be sent to Ben soon. I was just wondering what would happen if I installed them now. Would there be any problems, or should I wait until the Xovers are back?
Thanks

It won't sound right."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I would wait, it may not sound bad but it won't be right...Polk Audio SDA 2.3tl Fully Hot Rodded. 😎

Slap 'em in, start their break-in? If you don't like the sound, you can always trade back--if you're clever about how the electrical connector is attached.

They do take a bit of break - in. Why not get an early start. Just keep in mind they might not sound up to par.

I like the idea of putting them and getting the break in started. I really don't think they could sound any worse than the old stock tweeters, but you never know. Could any harm come to new tweeters by installing them now? If not, I'll go ahead and install them, and report back on the sound.Sunfire Theater Grand IV
