I'm not the thinnest person in the world, but this is just stupid. I dont blame anyone but myself for being overweight. Is the world getting so sad that we need the government to step in so that we don't over eat and get fat? This is beyond idiotic!

My sons loathe McD's. They're 13 and 15, 5'8 and 6', We always went to see the latest animated movie(and still do) and they never wanted to go eat at a restaurant because of a promotion from the hot movie at the time. Sure, the power of promotion works, but it is up to the parents AND the child to know what's right.

I think most people will admit they like fast food if they're being honest, as long as you treat it like junk food, more on par wtih candy than a meal, you're fine. It's when people treat McDonalds as a regular meal that they get in trouble (read : fat and disgusting).

    Eat your veggies kids :)

Man... I could go for a double-cheesburger now. I don't think McD's switches over to the lunch menu until 11, though.

Believe it or not I see McD's as a treat as we don't eat from there very often.

I think the worse part of McD's sandwiches is not so much the fat (although that is a biggy) but the lack of protein in it thus spiking your blood sugar because there is no balance of protein to carb ratio. I wonder how they manage to wash out the protein in their meats and fish?

Perhaps they use Bef, Chucken, and Flish!!!:D

Just as the cigarette companies are into the nicotine delivery system business, McD is in the sugar delivery system. Make it cheap and make it high in calories because it's cheaper than meat/fish. Don't take this as a disparaging remark on them because my favorite sugar delivery system from McD is the #1 combo: BigMac, fries, Diet Coke  . I do hate their waxy cups which is the #1 reason I avoid them.

Nothing I've said is new. We all know that eating at McD too many times isn't healthy but it's a free country.

I'm of the belief that there are certain ingredients (fat, sugar, etc...) that some people have a predilection to consume and the craving for foods with these ingredients becomes incredibly intense. Those without willpower almost can't help themselves (or don't care to). McDonalds knows what this stuff is and exploits it to its fullest. I'm not saying anybody should blame McD's for it, as I also believe personal responsibility trumps any culpability of the company.

They've got me - I'll admit to actually salivating when driving past a McDonalds. :o But, nobody has ever forced me to eat there. Once in a while, though...

It's funny how some people seem predisposed to crave this stuff, while it does absolutely nothing for others. And others are truly repulsed by it.

There are ways to eat healthy at fast food places most people just are too lazy to figure out how or don't take the time to look at what they are eating. For example a premium chicken sandwich can be done fairly healthy. Get a club that is grilled request it with no mayo cheese or bacon add some hot sause for flavor and it's not as bad overall. Skip the fries and do diet come or water and it will be around 400 calories wih about 40 grams protien and I think about 30 carbs which would be the worse part. Most of the fat is removed and unwanted calories.

Now the best is o never eat at these places but when you are on the road a lot or very busy it can help maintain your diet. However also making sure you work out enough and eat a balanced diet and proper portions will to a long way in helping.

Also kids like to do what their parents do. If adults say don't eat it yet bring it home and the kid sees it what kind of messsage does that send. Practice what you preach and help make the world a better place I hink is what a lot of people need to do.

    Me too.
Also have a weakness for the Sausage and Egg McMuffin, so I usually get 1 of each due to my inability to make a decision.

I think you're mistaking McD's with White Castles (the true breakfast of champions).

My problem with Happy Meal Toys ? That they don't offer mega-cool toys like they used to:

"Speed Racer License Plate Purse" ? Yeah, I was top dog in the neighborhood when I got my hands on a couple of those a couple of years ago.
Sure, my kids whined and cried that I took their Happy Meal Toys away from them, but ....... life ain't fair. Get a job.

My weekness, diabetes and all, is ICE CREAM & milkshakes. Once I get that jones going for ice cream no matter what time of day or night, I'm out the door and picking up a 1/2 gallon. . . well it use to be a 1/2 gallon but like everything else they cut the sizes and increase the price. However some of the store brands are still a 1/2 gallon. Butterscotch syrup is a must and some Hershey's dark! Geez just talking about it is elevating my blood sugar!:eek::eek:

I gotta tell you I'm an ice cream commonsewer and I can't believe how really good Walgreen's Old Fashioned ice cream is.

McD's; always a large strawberry milkshake. Strawberry my behind, I can't see them using real strawberrys but hm hm good.
