I have a set of speakers I bought off craigslist...decent set, Polk, stickers on back have serial number and a "7" on them...any clue? They are from the 70's I believe, thus, why I posted in the vintage section.
I have a kenwood KR-7600 powering them which sounds great...any suggestings of what the speakers?
Thanks in advance,
Jason

Later Monitor 7A (or early 7B?) by the looks of it. Peerless tweeter; pegs for the grille instead of "super-Velcro"
How many fuses on the back?
Here's my 1978 Monitor 7A for comparison.
EDIT Oy the mass loading on your PR is different; I'm gonna vote Monitor 7B.
FWIW here's what the very original "Monitor Series Model 7" looked like:

Thanks for the early replies. There is a single external fuse above the wire jacks...in perfect shape.
Any other opinions or thoughts on how these speakers rate?

I do not own these, but have a chance to buy them for 65 bucks.
Do you know what these are?
And is 65 a decent price?
Thanks again for you patience.

I've owned a pair for 32 years; I think they're OK :-) -
Monitor 7A's. I've got a pair exactly like them, and they sound magnificent. Probably somewhat later production examples. The nirvana inducer-

I've got a pair just like them, also marked "7" that I bought new in '79. A happy accident.
It looks like you got the oak vinyl, mine are rosewood.
They may be the best bargain speakers ever made. They image great, and pair them with a good musical subwoofer, and they're great.
Welcome to Polk!
