Would I be disappointed if I downgraded from a set of Polk Rti8 to a set of Rti6 in the front of my HT system? I'm really contemplating trading down to a set of Rti6 (if I can find some) because they are smaller and are said to have a better sound with subwoofer plus I read that the Rti8 needs more amplifier even though I think my H/K Receiver is plenty powerful enough.

As much as the 6s are a great bookshelf speaker, there is no way it can compete with the 8. I know I have the 4s,6s and 8s. With that said, I use my 6s as mains in my 2 ch and they are quite decent and have enough bass on their own for our needs.

I would say that you may be disappointed. I know that I would be if i went back to A3's for the A5's that I have now. I had the A3's as fronts for a while and upgraded to the 5's and there was a noticeable improvement. I could not imagine going back to them now that i know what the towers sound like. Now if space is a concern then i would understand. As long as you could use the towers I would not go back.
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

The 6's are a much more neutral sounding speaker.IMO way better for music. The 8's are far superior in a theater set up.

Ok you convinced me because I was expecting the complete opposite and I use them mostly for a home theater speaker.

I do have a HSU VTF-1 sub so bass is not an issue so sound quality is my preference from my fronts.

I know this is an old thread but can hardly find pricing pointers for the Rti8s (pair). Farmboy sold his for 300$ US and I,ve spotted some in Trenton, guy is asking 500$ CDN for the pair. Willow since you are familiar with them and CDN pricing, what would you say fair pricing would be for them?
