From the radio news the epicenter was in Buckingham near Gatineau. I was getting my back checked and worked on when it occured (laying flat on my back on the table). Weird feeling, as the table was shaking strongly and I could feel the movement starting weak and getting a lot more intense and wasn't sure how far that would go. The doctor never experienced hearthquake before in his life and started to panic a little when the wall beside him started to shake. We both got out of the building as the door was fairly close (never took the time to grab my shoes).

Went by COSTCO afterward and as a joke I asked the young lad that was taking of the shopping carts if they were moving on their own. He said yes but he mentioned the cars in the parking lot were also moving badly. In the store, this was the topic everyone was talking about and apparently one of the tall racks containing the goods was clearly waving. According to people working at COSTCO, all Canadian stores are of the same design as the US stores and are constructed to be able to endure hearthquakes.

On route 307 a small bridge colapsed (probably old enough that it was due for replacement) and a fisherman was slightly injured. Apparently some commercial buildings were damaged in Buckingham and some building in Ottawa suffered some window damages (cracked).

My sister felt it in Montreal and got a good scare as her desk was moving around. According to our radio station, it was felt as far as the Lac Saint Jean and up to the Toronto area. It was not a huge hearthquake but since we are not use to it (not common) here in Canada unlike the US it was a big thing for many. The only time I felt an hearthquake with similar strenght in Canada was in Queen Charlotte island (Masset). Occurred at night while in bed, nice way to be awaken. It was however not a big deal since most people were use to such in that area (just a topic for conversation).

There was a noticible quake in Northeast PA the other day. Not the usual location for quakes... but we all do live on one plate or another!
    Ludicrous gibs!

rather unusual in our area also. Possibilities are there but it has been considered dormant but I guess it has to awaken someday.

I work on the 1rst floor of the Connaught Building (for those who don't know it's a castle in our downtown) There is construction right out side our window we thought they came real close or they hit some pipe. Then the whole castle was moving around and the sound was so loud. Not long after all our alarms went off. I had a cottage up till last year right in the town where the centre of it was. We were told to go home....(how the public service like to take care of/baby their employees).
