Quick question....I have a friend that has this and is going to give it to me, the only problem is that it needs repair. When you plug it in the standby light comes on and when you press the power button to switch it on..........no workee. It is the dvd,cd changer and is in mint condition.
I don't think that it is the power supply as there would be no lights at all if it were....right? Maybe a bad power switch is to blame, wonder how much it would cost to repair this thing.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Mike

Just fishing here as I don't know the HK players, but for most of the ones I have seen, if the power switch is "off" the unit is all the way down, not even in standby.
Can you tell if the power switch is mechanical or electronic?
Since players are controlled by a chip, it's possible the one in your player got zapped by a power spike.More later,

Good thing you're getting it for free. I have one and some disks it says the disk is incompatible with the player. This happens to me sometimes with rentals, but has happened with some I've bought! I can sometimes get them to read by switching the main power off, then on, sometimes changing disk positions, but nothing always works.
Unfortunately, it always seems to act right when I take it to my local authorized HK repair shop.
