I write now as I sit watching, as chemo therapy is administered to my 17 year old son, who has contracted cancer.
I am pained, but, at the same time extremely grateful medicine has advanced to the point of a "cure". :)

Will be praying for your son and family.

I truly believe a positive attitude is key in fighting cancer, so keep your chin up and don't let your boy get down. HE WILL BEAT IT!!! That's ALL you can EVER think.

Wow Stu, I can't imagine what you are going through let a lone your son with the chemo and getting cancer that young. What type is it if you don't mind me asking?

We'll be praying as a family at dinner time and individually for you and you boy Stu! As stated above a good attitude and the internal fight will help get him through this to being cancer free.

Much thanks to everyone's well wishes and prayers.

My son Eric is strong and will come out the same. A quote from his face book page after a friend expressed sadness, "...please don't be sad.We aren't doing that."
I have never been so torn emotionally. Usually no matter what is faced I am a person to pick an avenue in one direction and walk it. Right or wrong. As a father I cannot pick an avenue on this one, instead direction is fully determined by caregivers.
This experience is hard to wrap my arms around because of the disease versus the wonderful people and care for Eric.
    Hence my post.

I want to dedicate this thread to the medical community and the incredibly impassioned people who provide the care.
Everyone who has made donations to research and care are just as responsible. Support makes a huge difference.

Truly we edge toward the cure for all.
