That's about as hideous as everything else Pontiac put out over the past few decades. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Dude, that story is over 2 years old. The kibosh was put on that around August of last year citing no market for it here. There are no plans to bring it here and even less to revive the El Camino name.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

I see some of the styling was taken from the Fiero...pretty lame IMO

Fiero? What?
It's literally a Holden Commodore Ute with a Pontiac G8 front end stuck on it. It's all Australian. There is nothing Fiero about it.

There is a hint of Fiero in the design in the roofline at the back, but I do agree John, that it is an inherently different design. The Gear... When I was in Australia recently, there were/are a bunch of these on the road. The top sports version, the SSV is a great looking car. It took me a little while to warm up to them, but once I did, man I want one.

This is the foundation for the "Camino", I would have to get one if they actually become a reality over here.
Here's to hoping.

I wanted the Trans Am to come back especially when the concept cars looked like the 77 model which is my alltime favorite car ever.

I have a G8GT and the car is just plain awesome. A couple of small mods and she is a 400+hp fire breathing RWD beast that will do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds has room for 5 adults with lots of legroom (car seats and boosters as well!) and a massive trunk for all the groceries. I took it to the track last year and smoked my buddy in his Charger SRT8 with the 425hp hemi all day long.
Nothing but fun!

I remember this story breaking when I was in highschool! This was back when the Ute was a concept in Oz. Yeah, it's not coming here anytime soon, but I'd say it's only a matter of time. There was a market for them, and the Subaru Baja missed it horribly.
