And purchased the Oppo bpd 83! This should be fun when it get's here!

    I suspect you are going to like it. I love mine.

    The picture is great, and the sound is fantastic. I have older HT equipment, my TV only does 1080i, and my AVR has no clue about the newer audio formats. The Oppo sends out 1080i with great detail, and the Oppo decodes the sound to PCM, which my AVR loves. The BD-83 has been one of my better audio/video purchases.

    That "83" is a gold mine for Oppo and deservedly so.I had a Panny BDK55 prior
    to the Oppo.At $500 it is an unbelievable buy for the a/v world.Ejoy it. Eddie
