Can someone remind me of the benefits of these over the original 2000 tweeters? Also are they a straight drop in or is some modification required to fit in SDA 2B/s? I seem to recall something about the connectors being different sizes.

Original SL2000's don't have a flat response curve. There is a spike somewhere around 12,000 Hz that becomes annoying and fatiguing in mid to longer listening sessions. The RDO194-1's are a lot smoother and more refined, and drop right in with no modification needed (it's the RDO198-1 that's different if you "TL").

Now, for your 2B's in particular, you CAN modify (TL) that crossover to accept the RDO198-1 which many find to be spectacular. I own TL'd 2B's and they are stellar performers.

Backing up, dropping in RDO194-1's is a great bang-for-the-buck improvement for the $80 shipped Snow is asking, because you'll end up spending over $300 to properly TL. Also, Snow is a solid guy to trade with!

This is the mod I'm going to make myself...but I'm trying to keep my spending down and soon I probably won't be able to hear 12kHz...because I'm already down to 14kHz...'age' it's a wonderful thing..probably even make SL-2000s sound good! lol

Good Luck with the sale...this is a must upgrade for you youngsters....under a half-century that is.

I don't know why I am having a hard time leaving feedback for Snow but all I can say it was a pleasure to deal with him. The tweets are being put to good use in my SDA 1C's. Thanks Snow.
