Who makes a good alternator?

I'm about to give up on dcpowerengineering. It's been over 6 weeks. Gave them $658.69 for 1 alternator. They just give me the run around every time i call them. So who else can make an alternator that actually puts out 200 amps idling and without having a different pulley size to achieve this? I don't want no alternator that'll fry in 6 months because it's running faster than it can actually handle.

You can test yourself by taking the negative cable off the terminal when the engine is running. If the engine turns off, the charger is bad. If not, is good.

iraggi....but you might get the same spotty service.

ohiogen is usually on top of their service though.

    SRT For Life; SDA Forever!

    The SRT SEISMIC System:
Four main satellite speakers, six powered subs, two dedicated for LFE channel, two center speakers for over/under screen placement and three Control Centers. Amaze your friends, terrorize your neighbors, seize the audio bragging rights for your state. Go ahead, buy it; you only go around once.

You can get your old one rebuilt with high output AT IDLE (much smarter) by:

    Boyle Future Technology
12325 Locksley Lane, Auburn, CA 95602
    phone: (530) 888-6290

Boyle will build it however you ask them for the same price, around $170 total including shipping. They provide a "cert" showing the output at various RPM's.

Lots of places say 200+ amp output but that's usually at like 5500 rpm~

I had my Toyota rebuilt from 60 amp stock to 90 amps at idle, 134 amps max.

Just be sure you pack well & double box. Ask them to return in the same packaging....

I was passing dcpower today while driving back from the airport. Picked up my alt. Hope this thing lasts a good while. Some day i'll actually get around to installing it. Hope it was worth the over 3 month wait.
