Ok, newbie here!!!
So after spending 2 days on this site and setting up my model 70's last night and with my CS2 coming in tomorrow, i have learned that I probably would benefit from a AMP.
Based on my system, does anyone have any recommendations? I just bought a house 3 weeks ago, so, a budget is a no brainer.
Thank you in advance...

A good start would be a used, Rotel, Parasound, Adcom, B&K, Carver, Sunfire, and so on.......
You'll find a lot on this topic, if you search. -

I assume you want a multi channel amp?
zingo.. my recievere is a multi-channel. So, does that mean yes?
Please bear w/ me.. i never knew I should have had a amp years ago. But, I thought it was odd I had to put the volume up pretty far to get room-filling sound..Shawn

If you pick-up a good, high current 5 channel amp, you should be set for a long time. Some guys drive the amp off their AVR like you, some go with a pre/pro like I did.

I'd also check your local craigslist as all of the above amps would probably require shipping; and amps are heavy.

During my upgrade adventure, I bought an Adcom 545 to use with my Marantz 2270. Didn't sound quite as nice as the internal Marantz amp. Then I bought a Parasound 1500a and wow - what a difference.2 CH

+1 on Parasound. I own both Adcom 555 & Parasound HCA 2205A. I hook them to my M70's, parasound sounds much better.
