I recieved my Model 70's yesterday. I had to wait till last night to add them to the mix, which is a very odd mix, I think...

After doing just a little calibration, I threw in my Eagles DVD (Hell Freezes Over) and all I can say is WOW!!!

Absolutly amazing...

Tomorrow my CS2 will be in, so i'll swap out my Cambridge Soundworks CenterStage center.. I'll then throw that disk in again... can't wait...

Polk... you are amazing...

Oh, any more suggestions on classic groups and music DVD's????

Congrats and welcome aboard. My favorite DVD is Pink Floyd Pulse. The video quality is poor, but the performance is awesome.

Congrats on the purchase. sounds like you are really happy with them. One of my favorite DVD concerts in the Dave Matthews Central Park concert. I also recently saw the Jeff Beck, Live at Ronnie Scotts and was impressed with it as well.

    Oh yeah, Welcome to CP.

    Kyle is very right!

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!!

What is a Denon 8404? An AVR, a stereo receiver, or an integrated? I'm not familiar with that number....either it's a mistake or vintage?

The Monitor 70's were my first set of Polks, so I have a soft spot for them. They got me hooked on what good sounding speakers sound like.

Sure enough, i was way off on what I thought I owned.. it's the AVR-2802. Funny, i have been wondering if it is a good receiver or not. It's older, but it sounds great to me.. I will upgrade at some point.

    He writes the songs...right?:D

Either you like him or not....One of those artists. He's ok. I don't think I have him in my collection yet though.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I don't have BR, however I have 2 of his DVD concerts & they are spectacular.

He puts on one heck of a concert, my favorite one of his is his Barry Manilow Live DVD. http://www.amazon.com/Manilow-Live-Ac3-Dol-Blu-ray/dp/B001BEK8B0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1276801072&sr=1-1 I have http://www.amazon.com/Barry-Manilow-Live-DTS/dp/B00004W191/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1276801072&sr=1-3

Another good one to get is Carly Simons Greatest Hits Live on the Cape DVD. http://www.amazon.com/Live-Marthas-Vineyard-Classic-Concert/dp/B003A0TFP8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1276800964&sr=8-1

Welcome aboard and watch your wallet! This bunch will have you blissfully broke in no time flat.

If you like things a bit heavier, A Perfect Circle's Amotion DVD is another great one to add to your collection. I'd also put another nod in for Pulse, as well as Live at Pompeii. It's fun to watch young Floyd in action.

With the prices being so low now on BR you really need to get one. They play DVD's and CD's very well too.

It would be wasted since I don't have a TV that could utilize the enhanced part.

    I'm content with std DVD's
