INPUT NEEDED: Receiver & Amplification for 17 Polk Speakers

This has been a fun place to hang the last couple of months. I appreciate all of the advise thus far, and now need some more 
I'm putting the finishing touches on my basement project (pictures to come....) and have questions about powering all of these speakers. (I want to be a 'DJ' by night!) Here's what I have in the basement:
FAMILY / THEATER ROOM:
1. Front (L/R): Polk LC265i's
2. Center: Polk LCi-C
3. Rears (L/R): Polk LC80i's
4. Subwoofer: SVS PB13-Ultra
BEDROOM:
5. Pair of Polk LC80i's
BAR AREA:
6. 2 Pairs (4 total) of Polk LC65i's
7. 1 Pair of Polk LC80i's
OUTDOOR DECK & PATIO:
8. 2 Pairs (4 total) Atrium 65 SKI's
Whew, that's a lot to type not to mention power. Each pair of speakers outside of the 5.1 HT system can be controlled through its own volume knob control. So, how much power do I need to get the job done? Here's what I've been thinking but would like your advice?
A. Onkyo NR3007 Receiver & Emotiva XPA-5 / UPA-5
B. Onkyo NR5007 Receiver & Emotiva XPA-5 / UPA-5
Any chance I can use the Emotiva amp to drive the 5.1 system, and then use the internal power of the receiver through a 6-pair speaker selector to drive the rest? Is the UPA-5 sufficient power at 185 watts RMS (4 ohms) enough or do I need XPA-5 (300 watts RMS (4 ohms))?

With a set up like that you are going to have very limited listening options as most areas will be listening to the same thing.
Sounds like you need to buy Creston gear or something similar. -
Thanks for the feedback. You're right. I probably don't see us listening to different songs and/or formats in the downstairs. Like our upstairs, we tend to listen to one source (all or nothing). It's nice to have the options to listen to different music in the bar than in the bedroom, but it's just not practical for our use.
I am open to other receivers and or amps that makes sense for this setup though. I'm a little concerned over the kind of power I will need to drive this setup, although 90% of the time not all the speakers will be on except for the occassional kick a$$ party.
There is no A/B switching on the Onkyo's but Denon's AVR4310 does. Would like to take advantage of more modern technology as we have Samsung's new 63" Plasma 3D TV.
