And i'm tired.
What did you all do over the weekend?
I drove 1500 miles to pick up a parts car. Figured why not make it an adventure, and drove the car back.
Visited Nadams on the way back, thanks for the burgers man! Great guy, and RTAi1s are intriguing to me now, i never would have believed they would have sounded half that good....
I got home at 1am this morning, and now it's time for a 12 hour day. Weeeeeeeeee.....
Pics will follow from some of the trip, and of the car. It's hilarious looking.

Sounds like you were busy.
Sat, helped my M-I-L pack her place, it rained so it was crappy out. Didn't do much till the eve. it was nice out sat on the deck and relaxed, took the dogs to the off leash park.
Sunday, worked in the backyard from 900am till about 230pm. Just odds and ends. Then again took the dogs to the park. -
Had a pub crawl on Saturday - Pub Golf to be more specific (it's a game we stole, but essentially at each bar you get a designated drink and try to drink it in X sips, X being the "par" for that "hole." Lowest score at the end of the night wins).
Spent the rest of the weekend being hungover. Stupid old age.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
I had an eHarmony date over on Sat. night. I grilled dinner on the BBQ then we sat and talked, drank wine and listen to lots of music. Overall, a very enjoyable evening.
When she saw my rig she asked what's the deal with those humongous power cords? She was referring to the Pangea AC-9's. Here stereo is a nice boombox. -
I got up at 4:00AM Sat. morning to take my wife to the Chattanooga Airport 120 miles away (Even though there is an airport in Knoxville...there is a reason for that...but I digress). Got back to the house about 8:00. Grabbed a couple of hours sleep and then headed out to the Smokies to hike with my daughter. She is training to try to hike to Mt. Everest base camp 1 in Nepal later this year so we are trying to get in a bunch of miles each week.
As we were hiking we came up on this...in fact my daughter almost stepped on it's head...and would have had I not seen it and let her know to stop...
Of course I had to poke it with my hiking pole. (I only did that because it would not move and finally I pissed it off enough so it coiled up so we could move around it).
It was now mad enough to coil up so we could easily go around it. Funny thing though...it NEVER rattled at us.
We continued hiking around the Elkmont area for 10+ more miles or so, then hung around till about 11:00PM to watch something known as Synchronized Fireflies...which are very cool BTW. They only occur in this one area of the Smokies for a brief period of around 3 weeks each summer. There are literally thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of fireflies that will glow in synch with each other. It will be totally dark and then they all fire up at the same time. It is quite the spectacle
Also, according to some hikers behind us we also walked right by a bear and never saw it. These guys caught up to us as asked "did you see the bear?"...which of course we didn't. Evidently they were a couple hundred yards behind us and as they got to a spot we had just passed, they startled a bear that ran off into the woods. Either the bear had gotten to that spot after we passed or was there the whole time and we never saw it. It was funny because it was near the end of the hike and I mentioned to my daughter that according to the park there are 2 bears for every square mile of the park and we had covered a lot of ground and not seen any. She commented that probably there were bears that saw us...but we never saw them. Quite prophetic.
Anyway…it was a very long but very nice day.

We saw this guy as well. Much larger than the rattlesnake...but just a non-venomous water snake.

It was great to meet you and your girlfriend. Glad to hear you made it home without any problems... To be honest, I was expecting you to call me to say you hit a pothole on rt 80, and not one, but all the wheels fell off. Does seem to run fine, though.Ludicrous gibs! -
sounds like you had a good weekend Ben.
Saw the A team with some friends, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Got drunk Saturday and play COD Zombies for the first time on my projector and that was some fun. Then battlefield till about 3 in the morning. Was home most of sunday to help my Mom and Dad around the house and apart from that nothing much. Getting ready to go to Detriot for the rest of the week as of tomorrow so yeppie! -

RIGHT! Can't be from being in the sun all day getting juiced, dehydrated and whooping around a golf course. Did you do that back in the day?
Ya see if you were really old, you would have the wisdom to know that before going to bed after a day like that, you drink a half gallon of water and a bottle of Gatorade and three aspirins!!! Hehehe.:p:D -
Oh HELL NO!!!! You can keep your trails Shackster! Holy snakes Shack! That's my 1 phobia, and I fear them with a vengeance...
I spent Saturday at the local bar where probably 1/2 the England soccer fans in VA gathered to watch the game. I was proudly supporting our team. Great afternoon.
Past that, I got tapped out about 25 times in an hour in BJJ Saturday morning (arm bars galore...), and cleaned house some. I think I'm gonna throw a party if I ever tap someone out...2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

They don't scare me that much as long as I know where they are. At least I didn't go all "Austin Stevens: Snakemaster" and grab it by the tail so I could get a picture of it striking at the camera!

Haha more power to him; I don't have the intestinal fortitude for all that...

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend. I was in bed sick the entire weekend. Crawled out of bed on Sunday and threw a rack of ribs on the grill. Afterward I felt like crap again and crawled back in bed, just now feeling better today.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Haven't had a chance to shrink down the scenery pictures yet, but here's my newest victim.

Wow... the passenger side looks much better than the drivers. I don't remember looking at it when you were here. I think you're right... it sat parked along the curb most its life, and got assaulted by plows all winter long.Ludicrous gibs!

Actually, the whole car, inside and out, is nearly perfect except for that driver's side.
I'm really tempted at this point to get a second opinion on the damage. If i can get the frame repaired for a reasonable amount of money, i can replace all the suspension stuff on that side for peanuts.
I think she'd rather have her Escort, though.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.
