So, I woke up this morning and I can hear a very loud and constant high-pitched ring coming from the center speaker. It changes in volume when I turn the volume up or down.

This wasn't happening last night, and the TV/surround was off all night long. Any suggestions?

    Odd...

I turned the receiver off and then back on, to see if the ringing stopped...it didn't.

I switched the inputs from DVD (which I use for my blu-ray player and my computer) to a different channel...and the ringing stopped. When I switched back to DVD, the ringing was gone.

If your center channel cable is long enough, try hooking it up to a front speaker and see if the problem follows it.Try using the front speaker cable as a center channel cable and see if the problem goes away.Recheck the rca center channel connection. That is what I would do for starters.I'm sure these Polk Vet's have other ideas as well. Good Luck, Eddie
