Any thoughts or feedback on the company & their products would greatly be appreciated. I can pick this beast up for a great price.

Sherbourne was using Sunfire for their pre-amps... I think Emo may be affiliated with the amp but I am NOT certain on that.

It's a great amp, I tried it out in 2003, good design, modular, double power outlet. It's a beast indeed. More musical compared to B&K 200.7.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

It doesn't match up spec-wise to any of their current line up. (which doesn't necessarily mean anything)

It does remind me of the discontinued IPS-1, but that was a class H amp. The Sherbourne doesn't specify what class the amp is.

The IPS/ Carver Digital were the same amp. If that is the case, it would seem this design gets around.

correction: the version that I auditioned was 7/2100A model. 7-200 looks almost exactly identical (rear) but with a newer faceplate.

I have the 7/2100A now for about 5 years and love it. It has seven mono blocks and needs two power cords! This beast weights 115 pounds and is extremely musical not only for home theater but for two channel as well. The company is great to deal with and is owned by Ron Fone formerly of McIntosh.

Their former home theater preamp, the Sherbourn PT-7010A was based upon the Sunfire Home Theater III, and the newest home theater preamp, the Sherbourn PT-7020A is very similar to the Emotiva UMC-1.

They are not affiliated, but they may share technologies. As does Outlaw Audio with Sherwood Newcastle.

I bet that Polk now shares with their parent company.

I have been using the 7-2100A since that model came out and it has worked flawlessly and has gobs of power. If you can get one, get it, it will perform.

While Bryston's 5 ch 9B has individual transformers for each channel,I can't think of another 7 ch amp that does.Nice if expensive touch.

That's one of the strong suits of the amp that I like. Each channel has it's own transformer...nothing shared here. It opens things up with the ability of bi-amping & they even have the option of bridging 1-3 channels which bumps it up to over 400w per channel. A lot of nice features about the amp that make it very appealing. Sounds like a solid company based on great designs, warranty & customer service. Also the owners come from a pretty good audio background. Ah!!! more decisions.

I've also been eyeing up the NAD M25 7 channel amp but I just found out that the current model has been discontinued with a new model coming out shortly. I'm curious if they made any changes to it or just renamed it while bumping up the price.
