Is this a good sub for music and will it match well with Vienna Acoustics Haydn's?
Is it similar to the Rel subs?
I can get a good deal on an open box, but would only get it if it's going to be a sub I won't have to upgrade again down the road.

Have never heard your speakers but I've had alot of experience with the entire micropro series and they do a fantastic job for music with the 3000 being my favorite for music out the bunch.
If you can get a good deal on one try it out and if you don't like it you could always sell it if you're not happy. -
If it's for music, then yes, I think the 3000 is a good match for the Haydn's. I'm very pleased with the musicality of my micropro/bookshelf combo - a music-only rig.

Thanks for your guy's input. I'm going to go ahead and buy it I think it's going to sound good.Setup:

I picked up at Fry's today for $340 which included a $40 monster sub cord I tried to get out of buying the cord, but they didn't budge.
It doesn't have the remote or the mic to tune it. When I brought it home I noticed one of the rubber feet is scuffed. So it sits a bit slanted. I'm going to email Polk to see how much it would be to get those items. I know I want the remote and foot and for sure.
Right now it's fine at normal volume.
So far it sounds really good.Setup:

Finally was able to actually listen to the system today, and it's sounding great. Getting this sub was definitely worth it. I called Polk customer service yesterday, and they are going to send the parts to me for free! First experience with Polk's customer service is a good one.Setup:

They couldn't budge because that's where they made their profit:p:D

The feet are adjustable.

Sounds like a real good deal. Open-box return? Display model? No matter, 'cause it sounds like Polk is taking care of you!
What are you using for an amp? How did you choose to connect it? I'm curious to hear how you integrated it with your bookshelves, from a crossover standpoint. -

Thanks. I knew they were adjustable, should have thought it about it more. I just loosened up the damaged foot and it's even with the other ones now.Setup:

The amp I'm using for the speakers is a B&K ST-202, I have been pretty happy with it so far. I'm using a Parasound P/SP-1000 as my preamp, and just using the LFE IN from the sub to the sub out on the Parasound.
Right now I have them both crossover at 80, I'm actually going to look in to more to see if that's the best way of going about it.Setup:

Sounds real nice. Yeah, 80 is a general, HT crossover rule, but for music, you gotta experiment a little... It's not always easy to get that seamless sound.
