I`v tried searching for the answer on CP & came up empty. I was thinking of adding an amp to maybe power my front M60 or rear M40. I was told by another CP that my onkyo tx-sr606 does not have pre outs so i cant add a amp. my bubble was busted so end of story. Then i read that my Onkyo can run an amp from the zone 2. Anyone have the correct answer and if i can add the amp on zone 2, will that mess up my listening modes for tv, dvd, ext? Need some advise from season CP...

My Onkyo amps that I have take the 7.1 (using zone 2) and convert it back to 5.1 if your seperating the listening areas. Get the manual if you can. It's pretty well explained in them.
Now if you just want to use the outputs from zone two and connect them to the other rear SPEAKERS,(while they're powered by their own amp section) then that's above my experience. But I wouldn't even try it myself. They are seperate and different channels. Your model is nicer than mine, maybe it will combine the channels outputs for only a 5.1. ...maybe.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
