two questions ;
1:will an LCD benefit from an upgraded power cable

    thinking about building my own out of 12/3 carol cable marinco ac plugs and wattage iec i need two at like three four feet each ....one for my lcd one for my sub......or i could go with signal cable ....im trying to be economical

    Trying to be economical is cool, but remember, the manufacturer was trying to be also when they included a basic power cord. So you may or may not see a difference. Like all things,you get what you pay for. Try it and let us know, you have little to lose if your doing it on the cheap.

    yeah i think your right ill probably go with signal cable.....magic power cord on my sub and video reference on my lcd......think there will b a difference with the lcd

    1) yes
    2) AR cables are entry level so it may or may not make a difference. Signal cables are proven (by many members here) to make a difference in many cases so that's a better choice, IMO.

    The SignalCable is just demo'd DID make a difference. Not huge, but enough for me to know and testify that they work.

    thanks guys ....the improvements are obvious on the subwoofer but what kind of improvements would i expect to see on an LCD(1080p samsung)????and would the video reference cable be the right choice ????

    noone is interested but it seems like a really good cable......for me its a toss up between these and signal cable

    You should stay away from power cables on ebay.IMO.
    A-lot of those sellers use fake plugs.(male & IEC)
    Buy from audiogon if your looking for good power cords.

    No. power cables are power cables, this is even stupider then speaker cable arguments. please don't wast your money.

    There is a huge thread on here regarding Pangea cables. They have a nice sale over at audioadvisor on them. I just ordered the AC-9s for my power amps. YES power cables do make an improvement and are worth the try.

    I've experienced differences in power cables myself...just not in stereo gear. An upgraded power cable made a very significant difference in the sound of my guitar amp though.

    I'm probably one of the few people in the world that's using a Signal Cable MagicPower cable on a guitar amp. It made a noticeable difference, notably in an overall reduction of background noise and hum, as well as giving me much better sustain, and a smoother decay...along with an overall "tighter" sound.

    I'm planning on upgrading the power cables in my 2 channel rig eventually, but in my current rig, the only components that even have IEC connectors are my Denon DVD-2910, and my APC H10 power conditioner. My preamp, DAC and power amp all have fixed cables.

    Ehh...he's just providing his opinion...There are two sides to every debate I suppose. He's obviously very much in the minority in this thread so far though...seeing as he's the only person that's replied saying that power cables don't make a difference.;)
